Motion Design

With a background in video production, I find designing for motion particularly interesting. I use a variety of tools from Keynote to AfterEffects and even a little JavaScript prototyping to create these micro-motion studies.

Loading

With this animation, we wanted to convey a level of trust with the user by showing that the tool was really taking their data and "crunching the numbers," even though the system didn’t require this much time to load results. This quick and fun loading screen gives a little lightness to an otherwise long list of forms.

Content Entry

Forms can get tedious, and in this case, the user was going to be filling out a good number of them. We wanted to lighten up the experience by adding a few playful motion elements that allowed the user to take the questions one step at a time.

User Feedback

This design ended up being pretty complex, so I wanted to find a way to help users understand the effects of actions they took. Here they can see that by adding to their inventory, the system is recalculating their results.

Clinical Trial Finder Cannes Lions Submission

Working with a small team, I created a video about Springbox's work with the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network's Clinical Trial Finder tool for submission in the 2015 Cannes Lions awards. I used a combination of Illustrator, AfterEffects, and Premier to tell the story of Springbox bringing the tool to life.
